Structure

Congress or the legislative branch of government is made up of two parts. One is called the Senate which has 100 members with two senators from each state. (50 states x 2 senators = 100 total senators; OMG!) The other part is called the House of Representatives. The House has 435 members and the number per state depends on the size of the population of the state. Click on the different pages of this website to learn more about each part of Congress.
